I hope you all have had a fantastic week! I know I sure did but man was it exhausting!
First off I am new to the area so the goal is to get to know it right? Welp that turned into us going and exploring even more than Hna Thompson new as well! Bueno that means that we WALKED! Now I realize that I walk everyday and my entire mission I have always walked and walked but here is not just walking but more like hiking! Holy smokes! We don't have any paved roads! They are just dirt roads will rocks off all sizes sticking out of the ground. I literally cannot look up with out fear of falling on my face or twisting an ankle! hahah It was a lot of fun though to be able to explore even more of the area and to get to know our investigators! Here's a little list!
Fam Tejada- They are a family very special! They actually contacted the missionaries to come back and visit them! The mom is a member but inactive and wants to start coming back to church. Her husband isn't a member and is evangelico but super interested and even enjoys when we come by and share messages! The daughter LOVES IT! Everything about it she just loves it! She is always invting her friends over to listen to us and even though they may not be super interested she makes them listen! haha This past week we had a big noche de hogar with them and Danielis (the daughter) invited like 4 friends and then the abuelita loca (the crazy grandma) is also a member inactive and all came as well! Welp we were there in a super spiritual moment talking about the first vision and what not and how Christ told Joseph that none of the churches were true and the Abuelita loca just interrupts and says that none of us know which church is true or what to do and starts basically talking apostasy as we finish talking about the great apostasy! hahaha the best part was that Hna Tejada the whole time just kept saying "no mama they know which church is the true church" haha ya so long Spirit!
Hno Vargas- This guys is super cool! He is actually as of Sunday and Evangelico Preacher and we have had two lessons with him and each time we have such amazing discussions! For being so involved in his religion he really changes at the end of our lessons with him. He will always start of our lessons with some sort of sermon of his church but in the end always accepts what we say and quiets down and the spirit is always really strong. He invited us to go to church with him this Sunday haha then he said he was going to have to ask his pastor if he could come to church with us... We shall see what happens! He is super interested!
This week we also had to go to the mission offices twice because bueno my comp has to get rabi shots... She got bit by a mouse while she was sleeping! We have mice that like to visit in the night. We have already caught and killed two and we know they aren't living in the house because we have cleaned high and low but our back door has a little crack and like to sneak in that way for some easy food! No worries she is totally fine! The shots were just a precaution!
This last Saturday was Mormon Helping hands and that was a lot of fun! We painted a school! I got to repaint some old desks and a locker room bathroom woohoo! It was still a lot of fun and we got to do it all together as a stake which was another great way to get to know the members!
We also had a baptism on Saturday! Mario Antonio Garcia! He is 13 and super sweet he's not really my convert though I literally only met him twice before the baptism but I helped plan it and everything and he was just so happy and it was so great!
Thank you all for love and support and prayers! I love you all so much Have a fantastic week!
Les quiero mucho
Hermana Garcia
